is this the mossburg pump or sa model?  I tried a carlson in my sa and it would not thread.

500 is the pump. It takes an invector choke and SA models take mobil

been reading sa have a thread issue and the carlson mobil will not thread, and possibly the jebs brand.

have contacted IC about their choke, maybe it will work

I have the 500 410 and sa 410. Didnt have any trouble with the threads on mine.

just received Indian Creek 385 choke, threaded right in.  Mossburg told me in an email that they have no control of the machining of their guns since they are made in TURKEY by Armsan
