I see lots of patterning pics on here where guys are getting fantastic numbers with the SSX, or Williams(Sumtoy) 562 or various other tighter constrictions in their 870 youth....My question is:
Why does my gun not seem to like the tighter chokes and most do? Just pure curiousity is all....
No clue, mine is the same way though. The SSX did not outshoot the .570 Tightwad in my 21" youth 870.

I have that tube....may have to give her a try. I have a 570 Sumtoy and it shoots very well. Gonna give the Hevi tube a whirl as well to see how it does. It shot the best out of my 11-87 with the Hevi 7's.
Mine is averaging 115 with the H13 #6's and 106 with the Hevi-shot #6 duck load @ 1250fps. Over 130 with the Fed HW and 132 with H13 #7's now that the weather is a touch warmer.
I got 156 from my 1187 20 with a 26" barrel and the Hevi tube with Hevi 7's....it is a 572 constriction so it may shoot very well in my 870 youth as well. I may give it a try when I get my gun back from the dipper.
Don't bother to put any Feds through it though....it is terrible, I tried it just for giggles and it stunk bad.
