OK I just submitted my Fall Harvest Permit Application for Wisconsin. The deadline is August 1 and it is a lottery drawing. Even have two hunting locations in St. Croix and Dunn Counties, If I get selected I'll be hunting private property and farmland. I like hunting around farms and in the fall there is no turkey scenery more beautiful. I will be making a visit to the property in Late July and plan on getting the GPS coordinates so I can do some Google Earth scouting when I get back to Southern Illinois. Any one else going to plan an out-of-state turkey hunt this fall? Anything special that you do when planning an "out of state" hunt?
Doesn't look like there is much interest in Fall turkey hunting on this forum, but here is my update: Scouting St Croix and Dunn Counties today. Looks like there are turkeys everywhere!! I think September 4 is the magic day in Wisconsin and I can't wait. Google Earth will be helpful now that I have coordinates and property lines. :D
