I got an old Mossberg 835 in Army camo from the pawn shop recently. I'm going to get a Kicks GT choke tube for it. My question is what constriction would you recommend, as Kicks offers a big selection?
I'll be shooting Winchester LB 3.5's, either in 4's or 5's, whichever patterns best. I like bigger shot.
What say you? I am leaning to .680, but want your thoughts.
I just bought a .680 gt and shot the longbeard 3.5 #5's and at 30 yards is pretty tight . I wouldnt want it any tighter at 20 its like the size of a baseball.
I have the. GT .670 in my 20" barrel 835. It shoots the win 3.5" 2 1/4oz 6's and the 3" 1 3/4oz 6's very well and the 3.5" 2oz 5's not far behind. All at 40yds. I'd like to find a used .680 to try as well. I know a lot of guys shoot the .680 in their 24" barrel guns with 5 shot and am curious if it would do better than mine. For 4's you'll have to go up to .690 or .695 more than likely.
I shoot a 680 in mine with LB xr #5s. Awesome pattern. Iv tried the 670 but 680 was better
