Title: What can I do with this piece of corian?
Post by: MarkJM on February 09, 2011, 01:57:28 AM
I get wood scraps from a guy i used to work with and tonight he gave me a piece of corian. Its about 24" by 18" and about 3/4 thick. Any suggestions on what I could do with it? If I would want to turn it into a pot, what tools would I need?

Sounds like an awesome filet or butcher board.

corian turns like wood.  should make a good pot.  someone on here posts pics of corian pots and they look sharp.

Corian makes a good call.Little heavy.I cut them with my wood tooks I pre drill it and them put it on the face plate. This keeps it from busting (most times).

I have used corian several times to make the mouthpieces for some of the trumpet calls that I have made.  It turns like wood but it is very brittle, especially when your turning something that small in diameter.  It will also finish real nice, just take your time.  Hope this helps!!
