Title: Fiocchi Golden Pheasant
Post by: NYlogbeards on April 10, 2016, 12:42:10 AM
I always wondered if these shells were any good, is the nickel plated better than copper? Has anyone tried these loads in #5, especially in 20 Ga but I'll take feedback from anyone who's tried them.

I tried the #6 in 20 gauge but the pattern wasn't tight enough for my liking.

That matches my experience also; both with 2¾" and 3" 20ga, #5 & 6 NiPb. Great for pheasant hunting but PP for turkey.

I have shot them a lot.  I use them for pass shooting pigeons out of a undertaker choke made for high density shot.  IIRC it's a .685.  I can kill a pigeon as far as my skill will permit.   It would be a great load out of a full choke it hunting thicker stuff or in the bottom barrel of an o/u turkey gun.
