I will be out Sat for the first time with my 9 and 6 yr old boys. I can't wait.
My dad and I had 7 jakes and a hen come within 15 yards of us this morning. 3 of the jakes walked circles around our jake decoy for close to 10 minutes, bumping up against it and gobbling a few times. We saw 13 birds all together but no longbeards. It rained most of the morning but my uncle has a deer blind that he built on the property so we stayed dry.
That's good news. I haven't seen tha TV many Jakes in 10 yrs. Maybe the winter wasn't to bad on them. What part of the state.
