I patterned my new Versa Max Turkey 12 gauge at 40 yards earlier this week. 246 pellets in the 11" circle using Long Beard XRs #6 shot using factory Super Full choke. Thinking about trying the Indian Creek .670 choke tube. Feedback appreciated.
Looks pretty good to me.
Personally I'd save my money and hunt with that pattern. That's a good pellet count and it's a nice even spread.

Looks like the money shot to me!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I think I will save my money this season and use the current setup. 5 weeks until spring gobbler comes in here in PA. Good luck to everyone...shoot straight and be safe. :OGturkeyhead:
I'd hunt with that pattern. Nice and even.
Agreed. There ain't nothing wrong with that pattern.

Save your money and go hunting! :z-winnersmiley:
Versamax is a nice gun. I killed 2 birds with one this year. However, I ended up trading it because its just a little heavy for my liking and the forearm a bit too wide.

I repeatedly had mechanical foul ups that cost me a few ducks and doves....sold that sucker and glad that I did...maybe I just got a lemon.
decent pattern. can be improved I think, but definelty good enough. are you shooting 3 or 3.5s. my 870 express "3" with a 655 and a 21" barrel puts those numbers up with lbxr 6s. and with my full length barrel its pushing a lot more. so I think you have room to get tighter if you choose to. still an exceptional pattern though
I ordered a choke from Sumtoy that did really well with Long Beard #4. Absolutely devastating on turkey!

Really good even pattern. Only concern to me would be lead. Now,before all the HTL pellets came along we killed gobblers just fine with good ol' lead! But ,if you want to really make that gun perform try some of the H13 6s or TSS in 9s if it's legal where you're at. But,I say this with all sincerity....HUNT THAT BABY!!!!
I'd hunt with that pattern, looks good.

Yep, great pattern. I wouldn't want it any tighter!!!
I'm running the same gun. I have a jebs headhunter with 3.5" longbeard #6. Been lights out

My friend, you can spend a whole lot of money and never get that kind of pattern!!! I'd go buy the same lot numbers of Long Beard ammo and call that a winner!!! That performance out of that combo is absolutely outstanding!!! :z-winnersmiley:
I am shooting the same load using a turkey full choke and I am not getting that good a pattern and I am using a scope.
Patterned my VMax today 325 in 10"
