Title: Anyone ever use Acacia(Asian Walnut)???
Post by: drenalinld on August 09, 2011, 07:53:26 AM
I don't know if Acacia is the real name of this wood or a slang term used in the flooring industry. I think Acacia is a family of trees and am not certain which species is used for flooring but it is beautiful! I am in the process of putting down an engineered hardwood floor of this stuff and I've never seen a wood with more varied color and grain patterns. I think it would have to make great turkey calls? It is marketed as extremely dense and hard for flooring.

x3   just went out and googled it and Wikipedia said"Acacias are also known as thorntrees, whistling thorns or wattles, including the yellow-fever acacia and umbrella acacias"
