I have been working on this Black Palm trumpet for a few weeks now, 1st one I have turned, boy was this thing a challenge to keep together. I think this was the toughest piece of wood I have turned, required multiple stabilization adventures along the way.....sure is pretty wood though.
1st picture is in the sun, 2nd in the shade.

That is amazing!
That looks great, I don't think I have ever seen black palm used for a trumpet before. Very neat figure I guess is the proper term.
Sharp looking call

Thanks.....maybe guys don't use it because they know this stuff is nasty to turn, keeping it in 1 piece is a major victory.
Nice. If I stare at it I get dizziy :z-dizzy: :D

Greg.
I first had Mr Robert Glover ( Crawdad) make me a black palm @ 4 or 5 yrs ago .... Its a wonder he still talks to me ...lol. but it turned out a beauty , then I talked Lee Chadwick. ( Misfire ) into making me one both men done it different ways and both are very good looking and sounding trumpets . I see Lee has made more of them since , so maybe he isn't to mad at me after all .lol
