Georgia bird #2

I killed my second bird of the GA season this morning with help from this 5.5 inch Buice trumpet. Morning started out windy and hard to hear, but I heard a bird gobble a few times early. Then, every thing was quiet until about 830.  I made a call with the trumpet and the bird cut me off and sounded close. Within a couple of minutes I saw his head looking over the grass trying to find the hen that he heard in the fresh burn.

He came out almost on top of me at about 20 yards and I had to just pull up and shoot before he spooked. Thick beard with decent spurs.

Nice bird. Always sweet with a trumpet.

Not sure how I missed this, but way to go.  One tag to go!

I missed this post too but he's a turkey and deer slayer so I expect nothing less.  Good job neighbor!!!
