Just came in the mail today! Kwila over Poplar and Macassar over Butternut. The Kwila has a nice whiny rasp.
Doesn't get any better!

Recently got these 3 myself, bad to the bone
Chatke viga/black limba; Mac ebony/persimmon; and mora/apple

Awesome boxes guys!  Makes the wait for the call from Mr. Watkins seem a whole lot longer though!

If your smart you will get one of his Macassar / butternut box , why the butternut came from his farm... that will be highly collectible...

Mr Watkins makes boxes that talk turkey, that's what I care about. His boxes are winners for sure. If there's a turkey in the wood he uses, he gets it out. :z-winnersmiley:
