After a very cold and rainy 8am soccer game we hit up the family farm in N. GA. Got there at 10am and the rain was still coming down pretty hard. Walked about 10 yards from the truck and there was a jake was standing in the middle of the road. Didn't see where he came from or how long he was standing there watching us getting dressed and loading the gun. LOL Maybe my daughter slamming the door a couple times brought him in? Any way tried two different spots for about an hour each til we were pretty soaked. She's a real trooper but had enough. Didn't see or hear any other birds. Driving home we did see a flock off the highway with at least one strutter.
Ah the joys of hunting. Glad your daughter enjoys even the rough days
I will have my youngest daughter out this weekend trying to bag one hoping for good weather
