Title: Unbelievable How Nasty
Post by: PEPPERHEAD on March 29, 2020, 12:06:57 PM
I've been buying some new guns lately. I always give them a good cleaning before patterning. The little Savage 301 in .410 was one of the worst I've ever seen. It took lots of scrubbing and brushing to get it clean. Clean those guns boys and girls.

I recently bought the 301t in 20 gauge and while I love it, I couldn't believe how filthy it was from factory!

I also have the 301 in 20 gauge and a Savage 220T, both were equally nasty.

 :morning:
I have found that all new guns need a thorough cleaning before shooting for the first time.
Just my .02 worth...

New Benelli M2 was spotless. Tore it down to do initial clean and inspect and was very impressed. Everything lubed just right, no residue in barrel.

I guess the old saying is true "you get what you pay for".

I've never bought a gun new or used that I didn't clean first, with that said the Steven's 301T 20ga was by far the worst I've ever seen,    A friend of mine not so anal about cleaning his gun didn't clean his 301T and just shot it, he has had a really hard time getting it clean now.

                                    ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR GUN'S GUY'S
