Thanks for sharing. Informative, as always. Out of curiousity, how much does a super full turkey choke slow a load down?

You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the article. You may want to think of chokes as you would a hose nozzle and compare the speed of a wide open nozzle with that of the tightest stream. Essentially, the same thing happens when you put a tighter choke in a shotgun. The velocity can actually increase.

Thanks,
Clark

Curious to hear your take on shot string length and wad deceleration and they may or may not affect chrono readings............

Is there a certain chronograph or type of screen that is preferable ??  Seems that there should be a different dynamic at work over top of the chrono from readings registered on a single projectile.

L.P. Brezny has probably done more work on that subject than anyone I know. If you have an opportunity to pick up a copy of his book "Modern Shotgunning" I think you'd find it very informative. He spends pages and even chapters on the subject and it's some of the most interesting and informative reading I've found on many other subjects as well.
His advice and experience would be much more valuable to you than mine.
I hope that helps some.
Thanks,
Clark
