Took a co worker and his daughter this morning to a new club that I joined for turkey hunting only. Had heard that the other members were killing every thing in site so I figured I had better get down there and kill one myself.
Started out slow. Heard one tom on the roost and he was a long ways off. Started walking the road and found a bunch of sign so I made a call and had one respond about 500 yds away. Woods were way to open to close the distance so we set up there with him and his daughter in front of me and it was game on. Called a few times and he resonded every time but a hen started up that was between us and I thought the game was over.
Started calling to here and she got pissed. She came right by us and brought the tom with her. His daughter couldn't get a shot so he hammered him.
