Alot of folks don't realize this but that little square that the makers scratches on the call, 9 times out of 10 is not that calls sweet spot. Also by having just a little spot scratched you are limiting yourself to the sound of that one spot. And last but certainly not least, let's say you need to reach down and do a call with bird in sight, you don't have to take your eyes off the bird, you can just reach down and do it..
