Title: Maverick 88
Post by: Mo_turkey_hunter on January 19, 2022, 06:26:33 PM
Found an old maverick 88 at my dads and he doesn't use it anymore.  28" barrel and think it be a nice beater shotgun. Any suggestions on choke for it? Currently has a mod but want to get a turkey choke. Preferably a cheaper one.

Thanks.

660 to 665   alot to do with the shell you plan on running in it.

Longbeards or federal grand slam 5s and 6s

6s I would go 660.     5s or 4s 665.     665 would let you play with tss also.

My dads old 500 shots great patterns with lbxr magnum #6s through a hs undertaker hd .675. I don't hunt it because I find the pattern too tight for my liking even at 30 yards. Pretty sure the 500 and 88 take the same barrels
