If he gobbles at your calls he's interested

If he doesn't gobble at your calls he's not interested.
I might have heard a pity gobble or two in the past

That turkeys try to come to you with the sun at their backs.   :goofball:
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

That the "bad" calling you hear has to be another hunter... then the hen walks out :)

If it's raining in the morning a gobbler will stay on the roost and ignore your calls.

60% of the time it works every time!

owlhoot

Well they can get pretty curtious at times!

TauntoHawk

the first day you don't hear any gobbles someone always says they are done breeding and its all over

In general I think people give the birds too much credit they they aren't evil geniuses out masterminding us in an elaborate game of chess.

Uncle Nicky

You can't call a turkey down a hill.

If a turkey is gobbling mid day he is an easy kill. Maybe... Maybe not

These are great! I concur with most of them (fence, downhill, water) as I've seen em too.

I want to test the backwards hat trick haha.

On the unkillable topic - that could be a fun thread - the birds you just couldn't kill (or had a hard time). Thoughts?
