If you look close ,the beard is there, but the wind was blowing and had it pinned to his chest.

Hawken puts up a lot of great pics. Also, check out econo on here. He is a great photographer.

Thanks for all the kind comments ,you guys.

@ Ross . I was just a few feet away from this Tom . I was standing in a creek bed . The creek bank came up to my chest , and the two toms ( there was one to the right out of frame) were on the edge . I wish I was smart enough to have videoed the show they put on that day .Oh well ,got a bunch of stills ..... more on my "Flickr"  http://www.flickr.com/photos/keakaphoto/  (Shameless plug ) lol
   I don't use flash on wildlife much. It runs them off , and you only get one or two shots... so they better be good-ones !....Flash does make for better quality tho ! but also need a "Better beammer"
  I am planning to set-up a studio flash , and getting some Humming birds shots this year.....but that will be in the backyard , and not in the woods .

WOW...that is some awesome work.  You really managed to get some incredible shots on those birds.  All of us understand how hard it can be to get a clean shot on a tom with a shotgun.....but this is a whole different challenge..Great Job.

Thank You Furtracter , I hope to get published one day . For now ,it's pure fun ! most of the time ,I have a gun in the blind with me ,but use the camera . I let 2 good size deer walk this year.. Two different times,Because I didn't want to scare-off the wood ducks .lol (Shakes Head )             Calling in the turkeys is by far ,the most exciting thing I have ever done .

ooooh...hope my wife dosen't read this ...lol
