Here's my video from Monday's hunt. Before playing back the footage, I would have sworn that when I released my arrow that bird was completely stopped. Apparently, that was only my imagination, but man...I could have sworn it was true. Upon watching the video, it was obvious he was still moving, and that's why I whiffed left. Luckily, my shotgun was there to back me up!

It looks like you hit high on him when you slow it down and pause it....I did the exact same thing on the last bird i killed with my Xbow, took out feathers only.

Agreed, but sadly, I think I was aiming at the mouth/snood. It's so funny, because I can't tell you how sure I was that he was stopped when I released. I just remember thinking "that's not right" as I saw him again with his head. Nerves definitely got the better of me.
