Hard to leave out a few others like Dymondwood , Black Locust , Purple Heart and Yellow Heart. A sleeper that most would not mention is Osage.
And the list goes on. Match a striker to the pot. They all have their purpose.

This was a great thread, thank you all for the very informative striker info. I have to say from your feedback, I received some strikers from Jeff at JLH today. He is a great guy to deal with, took care of me with some real beauties. The Frogwood, and Granadillos he sent me are fantastic. They play everything with ease, with a great tone. He is a top shelf guy to deal with, and his strikers are some of the very best. Thanks again for all this great info......

What size Beman shafts Matt? I have a bunch of the old shafts in several sizes. I know a friend of mine has an amazing carbon striker that is longer than any I have seen, it has a really good pop to it!
I have three that I love from JLH
1. Bloodwood
2. Frogwood
3. Macassar Ebony
Not necessarily in this order they all play great on different surfaces. The Frogwood definitely has a distinct sound.

And whatever that gray material was that Quaker Boy glued to the end of their two-piece plastic top all weather striker. That played on everything.
