Besides your gun or a special call what's the best turkey hunting product or gadget you've ever owned?
I'll say Thermacell.
Besides my squealing hen call, I'd have to say a GPS.
HECS suite, turkey scent and a squealing hen call.
Topo map app for the smart phone.
My reaping decoy...............and then my Garmin with OnX HuntMap
A waist pack and inflatable decoy with a skin. So much easier to pack through the mountains.
MADD dog whistle, makes em gobble till their throat is sore.
Actually therma cell...
Hunters Specialty seat/stool.
Gobbler lounger type seat. Mine came from Cabelas.
Gobbler lounger chair
Leafy jacket

alps grand slam vest
X2 on thermocell. I would say advancement of shells In Last 25 years also. TSS and Hevishot and shells heavier than lead. These shells are deadly.
That's a toss up between my cough silencer, squealing hen,or my therma cell. I'll go with the therma cell
Without a doubt Breedlove Air Cushion. Never found another seat that is comfortable and your butt don't fall asleep. Everyone needs one.

An alarm clock, and next would be a back up alarm clock
Its a toss up between corn/bird seed and Hunter Specialties The Kruncher. Those mature gobblers hate the sound of something else eating their feed.
Third choice would be videos on using a mouth call.
TSS and a scope to make 90yrd shots.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that fell for that MADD Dead Silence call. ;D What a hunk of garbage!! I'll never buy any MADD product again!!

#1 - Thermacell
#2 - Gobbler Lounger
#3 - Permathrin
#4 - Leafy Bug Tamer Suit
#5 - B-Mobile with a real gobbler fan. Had many a gobbler literally run to their deaths.
Would be hard to say because they each serve a different purpose. I could easily have a Top Ten list but here is the first 5.
#1 My "White Headed" Gobbler Decoy I designed
#2 Scope on the Shotgun
#3 My Turkey chair I made
#4 Double Bull Blind
#5 Video Camera
Okay one more, my Badlands hip pack
MK M GOBL
Butt cushion
Thermocell
TSS
Kill Suit
pruning shears
An ATV
hiking boots

You forgot to mention the trot line.... :toothy12:
Toilet paper / Sportsman's wipes...don't leave home without it.

^^^^^ This
I would say my Gobbler Lounger, my wife would say my Garmin satellite messenger.
Hunt Comfort "Fat Boy" cushion.
Permathrin X3
Gps on a smartphone. When running and gunning unfamiliar public ground it has undoubtedly been what allowed me to seal the deal on numerous birds
Thermacell changed the game for me.
Then the Gobbler lounger.
Can't imagine anything else that could help me sit more still, for longer than those two.

A vest. When I was a kid and first started hunting turkeys, I was poor and made due with what I had (just carried everything in my cargo pockets in my uncles old Marine Corp BDU's). That was a pain trying to keep everything from rattling and organized not to mention the beatings my legs took....lol
As good as Thermacell is, I may have to change and vote with Permethrin.
Forgot to spray my clothes once and went to KS and OK. 24 tick bites in week was no good.
Gobbler Lounger
1. Vortex Viper binoculars with an FHF harness. Best hunting product I own for any hunt.
2. Stone Glacier Avail pack. Ultralight weight and I can customize it for any hunt.

Hunt Comfort "Fat Boy" cushion.
X2..... allows me to sit a lot longer without moving as much, love mine.
Thermacell...(fat boy cushion in conjunction with lounger)....don't wake me...

I have an extra cough silencer If you need it. I got it as a gift and it's never been used. Sorry this just made me laugh!!!!!!
I would also say a lounger Gobbler chair.
Dropped slate calls, box calls, and locators...seriously. My success rate went up dramatically when I quite lugging useless items with me. I now carry strictly essential items.
Must haves:
6 mouth calls (2 ghost cut, 2 V cut, and 2 modified v) Mainly use ghost cut
Thermacell
Compass
TopoMaps and GAIA Pro app
For me, mobility is key.
The seat I sit on in my blind. One of those square cooler seats with padded seat and a backrest. I used to be close to 500 lbs. and the thing has never given me any problems at all, is very comfortable and is the best seat I have sat on for deer and turkey hunting as well as for fishing or just going places. My tailbone is very sensitive since my car accident and I had to stop going to picnics and 4th of July celebrations because picnic benches would just kill me but I can go to things now that I have this chair. Best 60 bucks I ever spent.
Haint Gobbler call- won't leave home WITH it !!! LOL
My 10x Turkey Vest. I've had it over 25 years and it's still going strong. I've bought 3 vests thinking I'd replace it, but I keep going back to the old 10x. A close second would be my Lynch World Champion box call. It's over 30 years old and I literally have used it every single day I've been in the turkey woods since......on second thought maybe that's the best, I'm not sure it could ever be replaced!
For some stone-cold turkey killers, y'all have fallen for every dumb gimmick ever sold to gullible hunters! :TooFunny: :TooFunny:
The three big ones have been my Redhead strap vest, gobbler lounger and thermacell. All have allowed me to get in the field and stay in the field.
Running HOOK'S mouth calls have been my best investment!!
X2 on the Hooks mouth calls and I actually made my money back on the Haint gobbler call when I sold it on Ebay !!!!
I would have to say
1. TSS
2. OnX Maps
3. A good pair of hiking boots.
Ez kut ratcheting pruners would probably be my most used/ valuable piece of equipment other then the calls and gun.
1. Find a mouth call that works for you even if you try 50+ Halloran, houndstooth, and hooks have suited me best
2. OnX game changer for both in and out of state hunts
3. Reddot I wouldn't shoot a turkey gun without one on. Vastly prefer reflex style like fast fire over the double lense tube style.
4. A good pair of boots that let you hammer out the miles, I average 4-5 miles a morning on public land

Gobbler lounger and Thermacell
Seems too easy... Thermacell. 100% Deet started eating through the steering wheel of my truck years ago, now I'd forget my shotgun before the Thermacell.
Fat Boy Cushion - lets me sit longer
GPS - gets me to where I need to be
EOTech - helps my eyes get on target
Thermacell hands down!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Red dot for my shotgun followed by Permethrin & Thermcell.
i'm going to go with Thermacell too. Mississippi in the spring the skeeters are unbearable. They just swarm around your head and fly in your ears.
Second choice would be my fat boy cushion in conjunction with my tenzig pack with lounger legs. i took the tenzig seat off and strapped on the fat boy. like sitting in a recliner at home.
Dixon vest and Burris fast fire
Wet wipes or those viva paper towels. It's like magnum toilet paper. And a thermacell.

Hands down it would be the Thermacell.
X 3 goobler lounger chair. Can sit comfortably and still so much longer

Is that Spring Gobbler Fever? I have it and it is a great book. He also wrote Avanced Turkey hunting as well as several deer and upland game books.
Yes, That is the book. I have also read the advanced tactics edition. In my humble experience, reading those books changed me from an occasional turkey harvester to a more successful turkey hunter not only in numbers taken but, the quality of the experience and the appreciation for the Wild Turkey.
Thermocell hands down.
Carrylite Pretty Boy Decoy
Thermacell and the turkey tote sling
