Title: Salt Creek TSS ammo ?
Post by: topnotch on June 06, 2023, 04:04:33 PM
Have any of you used any ammo from Salt Creek. Thinking of buying some to test  pattern before fall season. Would be interested in others opinion if they have tried it.

It shot good out of our test gun.   I would put it around the top on all we tested.   It was a little light of the payload compared to some

I ordered some yesterday (28 gauge) and will report once it's tested.

40 yard pattern from my SA-28 with Indian Creek .525 choke. The circle is 10".(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230622/59e64e3969ae960f93c4290e1c78dd5e.jpg)

Looks like a nice even pattern. What shot size?

I'd be curious to see how it compares to Foxtrot or some of the big box brands with same setup.

I've shot Rogue 1-5/8 ounce, Foxtrot 1-1/2 ounce, Apex 1-3/8 ounce and now the Salt Creek 1-1/4 ounce loads out of my SA-28 with the .525 and all hold together well at 40 yards+. Kills have been made with 8-1/2's, 9's and 9-1/2's.
