What gun case would work with an 870 that has the Knoxx stock on it?  We need to have the gun cased in WI while in the truck.

i like the basic plano double case, they fit two full size 870 w/ sure shot stocks, they're only about $25 and i've had mine for 8 years and never had a problem, plus your local super store should have them

i will still use a case but dont need to since I have a permit to carry.

Jeff, FYI: A conceal carry permit doesn't allow you to "not" case a long gun Iowa.

Was looking for the LAW after plans to go hunting there...... this is what i found....

New Iowa gun carry permit law aimed at reducing inconsistency

"Also I don't like that a permit holder can now drive around in their vehicles with shotguns and rifles loaded in plain view or that any permit holder can walk around in plain view with a gun strapped to their hip or walk around with a loaded shotgun in their hands," he said.

Iowa law does not currently require that people who have carry permits conceal their weapons, but many sheriffs added that restriction.

Pals said most county sheriffs wanted their carry permit holders to continue to have to conceal the weapon.

"Now they don't have to. It's similar to laws in Texas. Just take your gun with you," Pals said.

Sorry Teacher, got off the subject i use a Air Glide from Plano if you have a scope / optics on the gun it works very well and will not dent the wallet. I also carry my shot gun with out optics ether way. mid $30's to $50, depends where you find one.

Man my bad then because they really screwed up the wording of that one as it has always been "Concealed" Carry not "Open" Carry.  And long guns were always considered a separate issue while hunting and still needed to be cased and unloaded while in a vehicle.  You would think with the new law they would of called it "Open" Carry Permits and not "Concealed" Carry Permits.  Learn something new every day but I can see them making many changes to this one due to the confusion and inconsistencies between the counties to which this new law was suppose to make it "EASIER" to understand and obtain a permit to carry in Iowa.  Sorry for the hijack and with that being said here is the gun case that I like:
