I would like to see that at 40yds, but still you got to love that Super Max choke. I have one for my Rem 870 and it will shoot as good as any choke I tested and then some.
its not bad for a .695. He only had 1 shell, BUT he is going to get some more and shoot this weekn.
Well going on that you would think that around 300 should make it in the 10" at 40yds.

You know the more I look at this pattern that Goldhunter was kind enough to show here the more I think I know what my next choke I'm gonna have to buy for my 835 to play with. I can't wait to see the 40yd results. I still bet it will be a very good one. Thanks for posting. Can I ask what the temp was when this pattern was shot. It looks pretty cool with the snow in the picture. On a warmer day like 70 degrees, that pattern would only get a lot tighter. :icon_thumright:

it was the 1st nice day in a long time it was about 53. if he gets the ammo in he is going to shoot @ 40 in a 10" and i'll post ......now the choke is just a .695. and he got it shipped new for 30.00.

Well guys here is the 40 yard target with the Hevi 13 #7's and he was kinda disappointed with the results with the MAD MAX .695. He also shot a magnum blend which shot a little better but he still wasn't happy with it. This choke opened up too much after 30 yards. He hasn't decided what he's gonna use. He's checking into another choke for this gun.
Guys what do you think about this shot? Do you think he should keep this combo or work on something else?

Well that will work, but like the two of you, I was expecting way better. Tell him he needs to go with a .670 or .675 choke. That would be my recommendation. I would try a good choke around that exit diameter. No bigger than .680. Indian Creek, Pure Gold, or Tru-Glo SSX are all great choices.

The 40 yard target with the Mad choke doesn't surprise me. One of my buddies shot some Hevi #7's through his a couple weeks ago and had about the same results. That choke is too open. Look for something around .675.

we are going back to the range on march 8 and work on genes gun and see what we can do .

we shot genes gun with the .695 with win xx #6 and @ 30yds and he got about 260 in a 10". he is going to stay with that this year and next year hes going toget a ic.choke.

Disappointed or not, that pattern will kill any bird.
That's 18 pellets better than my 835 Mossy before polishing. I'm going to shoot it this afternoon and see if the polishing helps. Fingers crossed. I'd be happy with 200+ honestly.
Yea i liked the 7's better and i'd get a ic. choke asap and go back to the range.

Gene did not get a ic.choke this year. He is going to try a 2" extended non ported .650 headhunter with h13 # 7's . we dont know how this will work but hes going to give it a go with that choke. i'll post up some pics after we get a nice day togo to the range. Gene payed over $$$100.00 for that choke :o i hope it works out for him.

The jellyhead and Indian creek shoots the hevi 13 better than the ballistics headhunter. BUT different gun, different barrel..may work for him. He may want to spring for some federal Hw 7's that chokes combo smokes with the 1-7/8 oz but again just gotta shoot to know. Them shells got more Az than H13 just lack as much density. If you let the pepper shaker patterns get to you the feds wont pass. Everybody likes them H13's for numbers. Downrange their aint no contest, 15 gram pellets at 1300 fps...all day long brother. Ive got the choke in a rem spst. with a fed setup

I see that guy won the 2011 still shoot, i was just looking to get one for my 835 but i just cant get myself to shell out 100+ for a choke. Cant wait to see some numbers from that choke.
It's amazing what happens from 30 to 40. Still not bad though.
Well guys we took Gene to the shooting range today to try the new choke he got. He was shooting the Winchester 3 1/2" #6s 2 1/4 loads lead and unfortunately he was disappointed. We started out at 30 yds and just barely broke the 200 mark in a 10" circle. He was so mad he wouldn't let me take any pictures of the targets to post on here. He packed up and went home and called where he got the choke and will be exchanging it for an IC670 I believe. We will be heading back to the range after he gets the choke in the mail. Gene is on the left and my good friend Longbeard 22 is on the right.

Gene, David & myself finally got together to go shoot Gene's gun. He got the new IC.675 choke for the Mossberg and 2 boxes of the new 3.5 Winchester Double XX #6's and 2 boxes of 3.5 Magnum Blend to shoot. We dialed the gun in with the Double XX ammo and fired a few rounds of Magnum Blend at 30 yards. We then fine tuned it in with the Magnum Blend and IC choke at 40 yards. This was the most difficult shotgun we ever worked with to find a working combo. I can't name all the chokes and ammo that was put into this gun to finally get it working. Gene is now a happy man and @ 40yds in a 10" 255 he ought to be. Look for him to kill a turkey with it.
