Title: Tom/hen?
Post by: THattaway on March 22, 2020, 02:29:58 PM
You tell me what it is, the second smaller strutting bearded turkey. Witnessed one just like it years ago on this same property. Bearded hens are not rare here either.

Wow, has hen colors, but actions of a Tom. Can't really see the spurs. Great video.

Definitely bearded hen. Strutting hens are uncommon, but not rare. I've personally only witnessed one which also gobbled quite well...only lacking the volume of a tom. She strutted and gobbled but had no beard.

That's a turkey with some messed-up genes.  Too many "X's and Y's" in there somewhere!  :)

Intersex???  Bearded, strutting, larger than the other hens, smaller than the toms, feathers all the way up the neck...
