I have a 24" ported 835 on the way and looking at chokes. I have several boxes of LBXR in different sizes and with my previous luck that's what I plan on shooting. I've read about every post that involves 835s. I don't see a ton of talk about Rhino or Jebs which are at the top of my list as well as Indian Creek. I have a Rhino in my SBE2 and have had great luck. What I've gathered is Indian Creek .675 is a toughs choke to pass on. Any other recommendations?
I shoot an 835. IMO, probably the best patterning gun. The 835 does very well with chokes in the .670 to .676 ranges. Some of these are the Indian Creek .675, Pure Gold .670, Stardot .676, Sumtoy .670 or .675 and SSX. With your Longbeards in #5 or 6's you will get Great patterns with any of these. I personally shoot Hevi 7's with a .670 Pure Gold. Check the classified choke section and see what is available. Good luck. Welcome to OG!
My 835 did really good with a rob Roberts .685 with longbeard 5's
Get the Carlson's LB choke and shoot LB #6's. You're welcome.
I tried Jebs .665, .660 and Indian Creek .675. Using the 3" Long Beard #5s 1 3/4 ounce load, either The Jebs .660 or Indian Creek .675 will pattern close to 190 in 10" at 40. I have a Nitride Jebs .660 on Gunbroker for sale....
Old Jelly Head .690 and the Kicks .685 did real well for me.
My 835 has patterned well with just about every choke and load I've tried, but this past season I got a sumtoy .675 and it takes the cake. It shoots LBXR and win xx in 4's and 5's lights out
I have a gobblin Thunder 680 and a JEBS 665 Id sale.. PM if interested.
