How to remove wax?

This might be a dumb question, but... If you buy wood that is waxed, once it's reached the correct moisture content how do you go about removing the wax?

I just take a razor scraper blade and hold it not quite 90 degrees to the wood and pull it towards me to scrape the wax off.   kinda like this: /-->
