First time out with my Marlin Watkins fiddle paddle with wormy butternut body and bloodwood lid. The bird came in on a dead run from several hundred yards away. My wife shot him with a 28 gauge with 1 3/8 oz. of #9 1/2 TSS at 25 yards - deader than a doornail. It's a classic public land Montana merriams - 2 1/2 year old with 9 inch beard and weighed 18 pounds. The Watkins call looks to be a real killer.
