still quiet in cenral fl

  Although I was fortunate enough to fill my 2nd tag on Thursday, gobbling has still been pretty slow here. (Marion County)

  We had a heavy fog layin in this morning, so we didn't expect much, but it ended up being the most gobbling that we've heard all week. Several were gobbling great on the roost and 3 of them continued to gobble good after they hit the ground.

  After working on them for awhile, we finally got one to break and head our way when 2 hens cut him off....and that was it. We relocated to the area where we had heard one of the other birds gobbling on roost, but we couldn't get him fired back up.

  But the good news is that they gobbled as good this morning as they were during pre-season scouting, so maybe things will pick up for some of you guys that haven't been hearing much!
