I disagree , makes lots of sense. You are correct they'll move but keeping tabs of flocks, seeing how many birds are actually in the area, for a newer guy seeing where they're actually relatively near helps em find them during break up. Idk I don't think it takes much energy unless you need to drive real far.
I'll be listening for birds this morn, and in the area you speak of. I'll post some prop after, shoot, run my hounds, than maybe visually look tonight for birds about to fly up. We are only bout a month away.
Point is being sick killed my energy levels I thought. I don't see anything draining about this. It's valuable information and a great part of spring. Finding as many birds as possible To each his own. Good luck
