Not trying to derail your post but why don't you pay someone access fees? Idk bout you but I'd never have someone call for me. Kinda takes all the fun out

A lot of services offer semi guided options where you are basically paying for access to quality land and a place to rest your head/cook meals they don't do any calling or "guiding"

It's a lot easier to go through a guide service than it is to look at county records and call farmers asking for permission to hunt.

That'd be better as long as it's truly quality land w decent spots not being saved for others while you're given low odds opportunities. Shouldn't speak for anyone else though

That's where research and finding a reputable outfitter comes in. Pretty easy to do now with social media and google.

Idk about that. Google a really crappy call and look at all the rave reviews. Makes you almost wanna buy one. Look at bad guns, etc etc. I think better than social media would be actually knowing someone who'd been there and even that can fail.
A good buddy of mine set up a moose/bear combo hunt in New Brunswick. The guy was a drunk, a liar and a candy butt. The guy had great reviews from many fellows and Mark being a taxidermist knew lots of guys that were personally there. Idk what changed but it changed.
More friends of mine went on an Iowa deer hunt after much investigation. The week they were there some tv hunter came in and they were pushed aside to fringe areas. Hmmm. Another buddy, same thing in Kansas. Did plenty of research/investigation. The outfitter each night right at prime time motored his quad checking traps past my buddy.
I could go on and it's easy to say they didn't research enough but they sure thought so. Me the second I hear outfitter unless it's for bear I assume a rotating "stand" set. Each day a new guy is there and there was a guy there yesterday. . On turkeys there'd prob be some best spots. So is the fellow that paid for the expert guide and all the amenities getting the honey hole or is the fellow that paid less???
I'm sure there's good honest guys somewhere that sell access rights that outfit, I've just never heard of one. Doesn't mean they don't exist and I hope the op finds what he's looking for

There are a bunch of little jewels that list on Face Book. Just due your due diligence. Its not too hard to figure out who has birds and who'd blowing smoke.

It's all about taking the time and researching several. If you spend enough time looking you can find good reputable sources. I have booked several trips like that in different states that went great with un-pressured land. Really haven't had a bad experience going about it that way. Obviously people have different expectations on accommodations such as lodging/meals. For me I just want quality access and can stay in hotel/rent a cabin etc and do my own cooking.

Just like anything, go with your gut talk to the gentlemen on the phone/ message reviewers on Facebook to get an idea etc.
