Shoot the 3" shell if you want.  I have the 835 and have shot both 3.5 and 3" shells.  I orginally bought the gun for waterfowl when I wanted to try it but decided it was to early and cold for me so I decided on turning it into a turkey gun.  I shoot Hevi shot 3" 1 5/8oz. #6s with a 24in barrel and a star dot choke.  The sight is a simmons pro-diamond scope 4x32mm.  She is not camo and the sling is one of those removeable shotgun slings.  Misjudged distance on this bird with this gun on last Friday, thought it was 45 yards, but STEPPED it off at 63 yards.  He went down like a ton of bricks.  Try different loads and go with what patterns good and what you feel comfortable with.  The Pure Gold, never shot one, should shoot great from what I hear.  Good Luck!
