Switch to Hevi -13 3 1/2 inch #7 shotshells and put a Indian Creek .675 or a Pure Gold .670 choke in, and you will be surprised. This is my first year shooting the Hevi's and i will never go back to lead after seeing the results from them. Im getting 290 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards out of my Mossberg 935 with a Indian creek .675 Choke. I have done my homework and i am comfortable killing a bird out to about 60 yards if need be.

x2. As long as you get a good lot number.

And I was talking about factory loads.  If you reload you own and can get a 3" shelle to put 350 shot or more in a 10" than I can see your reasoning for only shooting a 3" shell.  For the point would be moot.

But I will say this if you can get almost a 300 shot pattern in a 10" with a factory load 3" shell, I can see using that too.   It's all in what you are really wanting and how dense of a pattern I guess.

For starters get rid of the factory choke in your 835, get something in the .670-.675 range and get some Hevi-13 3.5" #7's.  Buy a Limbsaver recoil pad and a Beartooth comb rasing kit and you will want to shoot it all day long!  If you add these two things to your gun it makes a HUGE difference and it does feel like shooting a 20 gauge, I wouldn't shy away from the 3.5's.

This is a new 835.  It came with two comb pieces for high or normal position.  It also has a pretty decent recoil pad along with a ported barrel and very nice adjustable trigger.

Ordered a Pure Gold .670 for it today.  I am anxious to see how it compares to the Indian Creek .675 on my son's 935.

And here was the Star Dot on the same exact day that one above was shot with the Indian Creek.  I think the temp was around 58 degrees or so.

Well here's another one shot prior to the first 357 10" I shot with the Pure Gold the last time I shot.  This was the first shot of the day.  360 followed by a 357 ain't bad.  Lot # I'm almost certain was 300325.  Temp was 74 degrees when I left the house.

I might add 3" shells won't come close to them numbers.

I never noticed anything called Hevi Shot on the store shelves.  Maybe because I just never looked for them.  Where are the best places to buy it and is there a certain brand?

I get a chance every couple of weeks to go to the Pa. Cabela's.

I Think u can get the Hevi-13 Magblends at a Dick's sporting good store this year but in order to get the hevi-13's in say 5,6,or 7 shot u will have to order them offline, or find a local gunshop that maybe carry's them.

Just put Burris Fast Fire on the 835 and my son's 935.  Should be getting a Pure Gold in the mail today.  Might go with a limbsaver pad, also.
