Wormholes

I was cleaning in the shed the other day and found a poplar block that I had started to make a box call out of. The wood is solid but there are lots of wormholes. I had made a couple of initial cuts and then misplaced it. I thought it would make an interesting looking call.

Has anyone else made a call out of wood like that?

  Yes, you will find a lot of WHs in chestnut & butternut. I've made a few poplar calls with WHs, but not many.
