Hey guys. Wondering if anyone had tried coating their box calls with briwax or another type of wax finish. I was thinking about trying it and wanted to see if anyone else has had any luck with it.

Wax will seal the call great and looks supper for a finish, that is until you get it damp or wet from rain. Then it turns a dull white finish and becomes very rough to the feel. If you looking for a good sealant and finish, put a coat of light wax on first and polish it out, then put a couple coats of clear on over the wax. That seals the wood and gives the call a great look that will last.

You say "clear", do you mean poly?
