There is no excuse for misjudged birds..Thats what range finders r for..If u cant tell the bird is 40+ then its time to reevaluate your killzone and how bad you really need to kill that bird.If a bird looks far it usually is. :toothy12:

I can't even fathom trying one at 60, but I have never patterned a gun at that range and so consider it out of my range.  But then again, 90% of my birds are inside 25 yards.

I'd shoot one over 40 any given day if I am 100% confident and he won't budge!

Let's get back to the question....fed heavyweight 7's at 40 yards, is that a dead bird or does he need to be around the 30 mark?

40 is dead. Still can't believe the 6s shoot as good as 7s. But since they do, I'll shoot 6s. They have some serious energy.... :OGturkeyhead:
