Thinking about buying my friend's Mossberg 535 Camo.  Its like new, hunted with just a few times.  Is $300 too much for it?  I hadn't priced any guns lately.  What do you guys think?  Thanks

turkey buster

if its wood thats probably a little steep...camo is pushing it still but if its 3.5in and has maybe a turkey choke and some shells thrown in then its a good start to a new combo.

I've had 4 of those guns all told and still have 1 of them. That would seem like a fair price to me.

Thanks,
Clark

It is a 3.5" chamber & looks like brand new.  I don't really need it as I have 2 other guns to turkey hunt with but a man can never have too many guns & too much camo. lol  Thanks.

Anybody got any choke suggestions for it.  I believe it has 22" barrel.

There are several chokes that have worked well in mine and many of my readers with both tungsten-based shot and lead. The ones that risen to the top are the Hevi-13, SSX and the Pure Gold. Those 3 have all worked well with both types of shot, the Hevi-13 shells with #6 or #7 shot have delivered the best patterns.

I hope that helps some.

Thanks,
Clark

That would be a fair price.  Good luck with it.  Let us know how it shoots.

I have a 22" barrel 535 and she loves the .670 Pure Gold.  Average 210-220 hits in the 10" circle at 40yds with Hevi 13 3" 2oz 7's.  Have seen 240+ out of it.  Very even 10 & 20 inch patterns.

I'm gonna send you a pm on a choke to try.

I purchased my 535 camo 12 ga. 24" barrel combo deer/turkey gun new for under $500 a couple of years ago. $300 sounds to me like a fair price.
