I have a few strikers that I have built/acquired that I really like that are not sealed. How much will sealing them in a lacquer change the pitch or tone?

Thanks

Treeninja

I think it actually shaprens the sound a little, but it could just be me. I will say though that I've turned about 50 strikers in the last couple of weeks, and I've tried everyone before and after finishing them. Plus if they're finished I believe the sound will stay truer on humid and dry days, just because the striker won't suck up any moisture thats in the air. Just don't finish the last half inch of the tip and you should be golden.

It shouldn't cause you ant problems, just don't get it on the tip.
