Anything in Central Maine?
April 01, 2013, 09:30:58 AM
On Sunday, March 24 I observed (briefly, maybe a minute from the side of the road) a flock containing toms, jakes, and hens, and two of the toms were in full strut. On Saturday, March 30, I observed three mature toms, three large jakes, and seven hens. All of the birds were feeding, and none of the toms broke into strut in the ten minutes I watched. I have yet to hear any gobbling. Anything from anybody on the Central Maine area?
