I've always shot the same loads, and killed all my turkeys with them, but today I shot 2 paper targets just to be sure all is still good since season opens on Saturday.

Winchester supreme high velocity 3" #5 and #6 (I will be hunting with the 5s)

NEF Pardner pump 12 gauge 28" barrel

.670 accu-choke

20 yards

6 shot on the left, 5 shot on the right.

Shot standing up, no rest for the gun

Ain't nothing special compared to those fancy HTL loads, but I'm happy that I am still hitting the mark. I can and have killed at 30+ yards but I much prefer to have the birds 25 yd or less.

I'm ready to bust a real head this weekend!

thanks man. I am still using the choke you gave me

When I was shooting lead these two were my favorite loads. Killed a lot of birds with them and you'll do likewise.   :icon_thumright:
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.
