IC BDS wad catcher vs non-wad

Does the wad-catcher version of IC BDS .555 favor certain loads over the non wad-catcher version? Is one better than the other? Are Fed HE with flight control wad ok in the choke with the catchers?

According to others the wad-catcher version is just as good as the non. Both handle the flight control wad well due to the fact that it is softer than the 12ga wad. That was my main question. I will probably shoot hevi-shot anyways.
