Man, what is this world coming to? What is wrong with people? Who let the crazies out? Look at all the grief and pain created through the acts of fellow human beings gone bad, the killings, the horrible acts of mutilation, what are we gonna do? Taking away the country's right to bear arms isn't the answer, federalizing the American Citizen's ownership of personal weapons is not the answer, the answer lies in God's Word, and as believers we are obligated to do our best to change the events that surround us, through prayer, good old honest heart pumping sincere prayer.
And this is our confidence, that if we pray according to His will, He will hear us, and give us what we ask for, because our desires are in agreement with His thoughts for us. (1 John 5:14-15)
How many of us, as believers take the time to kneel down before God and earnestly seek His Will for this country? Sincerely, with humble and grief stricken hearts, bearing our souls, really spending time and faith, shedding the tears, real tears, for the lost and the undone?
Yahweh is close to all who call on Him—to all who call on Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him: He will hear their cry and save them (Psalm 145:18-19).
We are shocked at the appauling acts of terror, we are angered and seek retribution, we are glued to vengeful thoughts, as our thoughts linger on these things, we tend to forget who we really are and who we should represent....we have, through Christ, the power to change things, to see a change of heart in those who have nowhere to turn, to listen to those who have noone to listen to their plight, share the Love of God, to welcome into the fold of followers, as we too, once walked along the pathways that would have led us to hells door.
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another (Titus 3:3).
And pray one for another - One for the other; mutually. Those who have done injury, and those who are injured, should pray for each other. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Thinking of the power in prayer, dwelling on its healing power, to not only heal the sick in body, but also those sick in mind and heart. How powerful is faith, is it stronger then an AK-47? Yes. Is it stronger then a suicide bomb, Yes. Is it stronger the the thoughts of someone who is bent on destroying one's life, Yes.
What are we gonna do? Is it our place to judge, to condem, or is it our place to pray?
