yeah all of the aluminum I have bought from brookside needed conditoned with very light grit sandpaper

I ordered some aluminum from brookside after i read this and yes this stuff is slick as a babeys but. I have a little blaster that i built, sprayed it with a light pass of baking soda and it worked fine, and still had it's color. also built one and used #320 sand paper and it played fine. with just a little prep. this aluminum makes a good call, but i prefer grassey creek.

I have used some of it, found that if I hit it with green Scotchbrite it will grab a striker

Brookside's aluminum is not blasted.  That's why it is slick.  Several call makers have tried to get Joe to bead blast, but he won't do it.  Light sanding will keep the color from coming off too bad and will let your striker grab.
