We were hunting this morning here in GA and we walked past a hen on her nest. We would have never noticed her if she hadn't flown off. she let us get within 10 feet before she flew.

How early do hens generally start to lay? I know its probably different in each state but I though some may have some insight for Georgia. Hopefully she'll come back. We didn't touch them or anything so I'm guessing she will come back. But, it was the first nest I've ever found while hunting.

Also when will they generally start to hatch?
