I got to looking at a piece of my pallet wood and it has a purple tint to it. Any help with and idea where to start? Its not purple heart for sure.

If its pallet wood its probably Honduran something or other. We use to get lots of it on our pallets when I worked at GM. I do know what it is but the name escapes me right now.

It was actually skid boards. I did some googling and I think it is sourwood. Never heard of it but native in the south east. Fairly light in weight

Might it be Blue Stained Pine?

West Augusta

Poplar.
We get pallets in all the time with purple mineral stained poplar runners.

The stuff we got looked like mahogany .

It looked like wallnut in board length form. When I turned it was when the purple showed its self. Poplar or pine, no for sure. I get tons of that stuff through here.
