This weekend was our youth season, we hunted hard yesterday morning, and evening with a close call in the evening. This morning, my boy got his first bird!. No blind, no decoy, sitting in my lap. Bird gobbled all the way in to us and hit us with a gobble in our face at 30 yards. He shot low and took some beard off but his first is a sure nuff good un!.

Nicely done and a big bird for the young man!

Thank you everyone. He had me cook him turkey that evening for supper, had his mom cook him some the next day for lunch and he had it again for supper the next night. My wife texted me while I was at work when he had her make some for lunch and told me that he said " I want to shoot that turkey again." And then said "No, I want to shoot all of them." Our adult season comes in here this weekend, I'm hoping the mob clears out some after the weekend because I took vacation Monday and Tuesday and he's ready to try for another!.
