I want to use some wood from my property i hunt and get someone to make me a trumpet.  What wood should i be searching for????  I have a bunch of Osage tree that is a strong candidate.  Anything else yall suggest?  Property is in Alabama, so anything from pines to hardwood swamp bottoms, oaks galore.

Let me know what yall suggest?  I know if has to be dried and stuff.  Just want to find it and get it cut to start the process.

I have a bunch of persimmon for some pot calls one day too already drying.

Hard to beat Osage when talking domestic wood, Black Walnut would be another good choice.

The osage would be a very good choice. Not sure what part of Alabama you are in, but if you can locate some chittum on your property, I would definitely go with that!!!
